The PF-10 Media Filter polishes and refines water by removing objectionable taste and odors that may be in the water due to the presence of VOC’s (volatile organic compounds.)
The more common of these VOC’s in our area are generally the result of decomposing vegetation (organic matter) within the strata or aquifer. One of the characteristics of this affect is a gaseous type of odor in the water sometimes referred to as a rotten egg smell, a plastic smell or even a slight “petroleum odor”.
The Douglas PF-10 is also effective in the removal of many types of chemical by-products from the use of chlorine, herbicides, pesticides or petroleum based by-products to name a few. This is extremely important when considering some of the information available today linking some of these compounds to the contribution of some types of cancers and other health related concerns.
The PF-10 is also highly effective in the removal of chlorine and their by-products as a result of their use in the treatment of municipal and city water supplies.
