Its knowledgeable technicians service and install water softeners and conditioners; iron filter and problem water filter systems; reverse osmosis filtration systems; and water coolers for residential and commercial customers. The company is proud to offer EcoWater Systems, one of the world's largest manufacturers of water treatment systems.
It is important to treat hard water, said process control lead Mike Lanni, because the minerals in hard water can damage appliances, cause build up on plumbing fixtures and decrease the efficiency on appliances like washing machines and dishwashers, making them more costly to operate overall. Water treatment systems can boost energy-efficiency, improve wear-and-tear on clothing and keep home systems in good working order. Plus, treated water often tastes better straight from the tap.
Customers have been trusting Douglas Water Conditioning with their family's water quality needs since 1968. That's when Douglas Lanni started selling salt door-to-door in the Waterford area. After serving in the Army, he returned to Waterford and he and his partner, Jerry Tiefenback, worked hard to establish the company as a leader in the water treatment industry.
Today, the company remains family owned and operated. Mike Lanni is now a partner in the business, ensuring that his dad's commitment to quality is upheld day in and day out. Jason Tiefenback, Jerry's son, is one of the owners along with Scott Shepherd, and Matt Long. Many employees have been with Douglas Water Conditioning for decades. Shepherd, for example, was hired as a 15-year-old to take care of salt deliveries over 35 years ago.
"Our 50+ employees are very experienced," said Mike Lanni. "We have low turnover due to continued growth and we like working together. We make it a priority to go to a ballgame as an employee outing or participate in other activities like golf together."
Our trained technicians are certified, licensed, bonded and insured. In addition, some of our technicians are WQA certified water specialists. Douglas Water Conditioning is an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm, Certified By the Water Quality Association.
In addition to its 90,000 residential customers, the company also offers water purification systems for numerous businesses and commercial clients.
